HAPPY BIRTHDAY VINCE

Vince Isaac Chapman

Ok, my baby boy is turning one tomorrow! I am thankful he is healthy and thriving.

Vince is a Godsend in every way. Over two years of prayer and waiting on God to show us His will, we were blessed with our second son, Vince Isaac Chapman. I must say that after delivery Vince was swept off to the NICU for a few days. He was a breath holder and they needed to make sure he was not anything more than stubborn! (this will help with swimming)
Then he had another issue due to (no I am not bragging) well, they needed to put another tie on his circ.! THEN... he developed jaundice! After many tests and specialists So we stayed in the hospital for about 5 days. (We got to see a sonogram of Vince's brain and organs!

I remember going outside the hospital very late for some air and stood alone in the parking lot thinking about all the new mommies and daddies that had come in, had babies and left already. Thinking why does my baby have to be in NICU? I just started bawling and praying. I asked, Father, I prayed and waited for you to give me this child, I don't understand why he can't be with us?
Father, yes, FATHER! Lights went off in my head!! You promised Abraham a son and from that son would be a great nation! You told Abraham to take his only son that he loved so dearly and offer him as a sacrifice to show his faith and trust. He obeyed, ready to give back to You the only son he had. You said I know that you love Me more than you love your only son, and that you are obedient. Since he was willing, You offered another sacrifice. A ram, a beautiful ram to take Isaac's place.

I continued to weep as I was I'm sure talking very loud. I cried Lord, please allow another sacrifice and let my baby get better but if not, I pray Your will be done and I trust you. After this, I felt so revived, a cool breeze blew on a hot August night and I went back upstairs. That very next morning the Dr, came in and told us Vince was ready to go home!

I know that nothing is for certain not even our next breath.

Walkin' outside

It was about to rain, you can hear the thunder but Vince was beating on the door to go out. He is just walking all the time and really doesn't want to be held anymore! My baby is growing too fast!

10 days 'till Vince's 1st. birthday! This is just as sad as it is exciting! I wish they stayed babies longer.

RUN BOBO RUN!!!

VINCE IS GETTING SO CLOSE TO CATCHING THE CAT!

Bobo is not a nice kitty! He is old and grouchy. I just hope Bobo will take the defeat graciously when Vince does catch him!

music lessons for Daddy

Vince was giving Mark a lesson in music. I know he misses Mr. Nance directing the choir, he would crawl up the steps and stand behind him at practice and move his arms like Mr. Nance. I wish I had video of that!!!

Vince has always loved music! Singing, dancing, clapping, playing it doesn't matter!

He loves to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star at night before we go to bed we go see the stars and the moon. He will sing along! I will have to get that on video too!

more nachos please daddy

Vince had fun eating nachos with daddy, Dusty and Eric. He chews pretty good with only 8 teeth!

eating nachos with the big boys

just being cute

My Birthday

Well, yesterday was my 31st. birthday!

I woke up to a cinnamon roll from my favorite donut shop and a note from my dear husband along with a drawing of me sleeping with Vince. It was very cute.

I was also surprised later when Mark came home early with flowers, a card and my coveted chocolate covered almonds!! YEAHHHHH.

We all went to eat Chinese and this year Vince is with us. Mark realised that we were at the same restaurant as last year when I was so pregnant and about to pop! Well, I was huge and did pop 16 days later.

We took a walk as the sun started to set, gave Vince a bath and I got to take a long candle lit bubble bath with my new candles. The rest is history.

ANYWAY, thank you all for your calls and happy wishes. A special thanks to Miss. Lottie and Miss. Emma Byrd for the most special birthday E-card. Love you.

our visit from the police!!!

Well, it has been interesting this afternoon to say the least.

Here goes.... Vince has this habit of playing with the phone and just a minute ago he was.

I thought he hung up and we proceeded to read a book. Then we sat down to eat lunch and as I was feeding him the doorbell rang. I looked over at the window (the curtain was open) and saw a police car!!! I immediately FREAKED! I thought, Dusty isn't here (he's at grandma's) Oh no, It must be something wrong with Mark. I opened the door, food in hand and:

me: UH, is something wrong officer?

cop: Is everything ok here?

me: Yes, just feeding my son.

cop: is anyone else here?

me: (pondering why he's asking) just me and my baby.

cop: are you sure you're alright?

me: (thinking am I?) yes.

me: what's going on?

cop: someone from this address dialed 911 and let the line disconnect.

me: (WHAT???) VINCE ISAAC CHAPMAN!!!

cop: (looking inside) oh, I see, please try to not let that happen again.

me: (completely embarrassed) yes sir officer, it won't happen again.

cop: are you sure you're ok?

me: (again, am I??) yes sir.

cop: Have a nice day.

me: YOU TOO!! SO SORRY TO TROUBLE YOU.

VINCE: hahahahahaha!

It was brought to my attention...............

I guess I have neglected my blogging duties! My dear friend Mrs. West (hehehehe) who has totally lost her mind and moved to, I can't even bring myself to type that state, you know, the one up on top of us??? I think they call it okla"gag"homa!!! JUST KIDDING KIM, don't get all twisted!

I hated to see them go, they took my husbands best friend, my sons little buddy, my best friend and little Vince's first love with them!

Yes, I AM STILL MAD!!!! really kim, don't get all tiffy with what I said.

GO
LONGHORNS!!!!!!!!

Catch me when I'm falling

Ok, I wasn't going to post on this issue but I feel that I need to. Most of you that know us are aware that my brother and his family were planing to adopt a baby boy. We have all been praying for God's will to be done in this due to uncertainty with the birth mother and birth father. Well, Gods will has been done and the mother and father will keep the baby.

I hurt for my brother because he is hurting over this but I also praise the Lord because this child will be with his birth parents! I have a deep love for all of you that have adopted and know a few people very dear to me who have Including my husband who adopted my oldest son. I am well aware of the thoughts that may spring to mind with my statement of happiness that the parents are taking their child, PLEASE do not be offended.

To you my big brother,

Just remember that you did help save this child.
God always answers prayer..........but sometimes He just says no.
I love you.

Slurping Peach smoothies.........MMMMMmmmmm

This is tooo funny, Vince loves fruit and veggies (he get's this from his daddy) He slurped and slurped we got worried about "brain freeze" and took it away and you wouldn't believe the screach he let out! I wish I kept filming.

daddy and rainbows

Vince thought the rainbow was quite interesting.

Sure was nice to see one in the midst of so much turmoil.
Made me think about Noah and his trust in the Lord to build the arc and holding fast as God's will was done. Then giving the rainbow as His promise.
Peace for Despair.
